They plan to present the idea to the Shore Drive Community Coalition on Monday before taking it to the council in August, Hansen said…But [Todd Solomon] said the city should explore some less-expensive solutions, such as using inflatable pipe plugs to prevent tidal flooding, like the one installed in Ocean Park before Hurricane Sandy.” at SDCC.info

  1. Isn’t it amazing the city can suddenly cough up $18 mil of “Our” money for the Cavalier however it is like pulling teeth to get help with projects such as flooding and Pleasure House Point? Remember, these “underwater” residents are tax payers too so while I respect those opinions like “they should move” etc. I believe that is ignorant. If everyone moved because our city didn’t spend “Our” money how we like, there would be no buyers and tax revenue. The roadway from Great Neck to the CBBT is in poor repair. It is unsightly with businesses like the old Cabo and Croakers as well as various buildings like where Smokehouse Cooler is. The area needs a full overhaul. Is everyone’s eyesight that bad? The road west of the Lesner is in poor repair and landscaping is poor on the east side. The city inky budgets cutting the grass in the median near Seashell Road once every 25 days. With thousands of tax payers in Cape Henry and Lynnhaven Colonies, this is unacceptable. Once the Lesner is replaced everyone will see the contrast in what looks good and what doesn’t. Rise up Shore Drive residents. Let the city hear what you want. They work for us.
