Pingback: #LESNERBRIDGE page updated | Shore Drive Community Coalition
I was born and raised in Norfolk and now live on Shore Drive within sight of the Lesner Bridge. I really do not see a need to change the name. But if that is necessary, I do not feel it should be named for any one person only to be changed again in a few years. There are many who would like a bridge, building etc. named for them and they are no more deserving of the honor then the next person. I feel the best name for the new bridge is THE LYNNHAVEN INLET BRIDGE. Why not recognize the bridge for it’s history and beauty?
I do like re-namig the Lesner Bridge to the Jeriamah Denton Bridge. I certainly feel he deserves it. But, does anyone realize what it will cost to re-do maps, pamphlets etc. to the new name. But, there again the City of VB loves to spend our money, it would be our cost to have this done. I think it should stay the same.
I agree. Or, simpler still, just LYNNHAVEN BRIDGE.
I agree. If it must be changed, then Lynnhaven Inlet Bridge is a great choice! There can be no doubt where it’s located!
Just keep the name the same.
How about The First Landing Bridge
PLEASE, LEAVE THE NAME LESNER BRIDGE NAME. DO YOU REALIZE THE MAPS, THE SIGNS THAT WILL COST VIRGINIA RESIDENTS TO RED-DO THESE??? I SAY NO TO THE NAME CHANGE.
How about The First Landing Bridge?
There was a Lesner Bridge and there still should be a Lesner Bridge! Retain the name. I was born in Norfolk, VA. lived in Norfolk then Norfolk County then Chesapeake and in 2004 relocated to Florida to save on personal property and state income taxes.
